Typing <code>We miss you VRRat</code> into your "personal notes" on your own profile, via the VRChat website will activate a hidden text adventure, on the VRChat website played via the notification menu. This easter egg is hinted on VRChat's social media account on X, as well as the "Creator Support" user profile on VRChat.

When beginning the text adventure on the website, you can also continue the text adventure within the VRChat client. The text-driven adventure tasked the user with freeing VRRat from, what appeared to be the VRChat Headquarters.

Navigation depended on a map drawn by VRRat, but its visibility was limited to areas illuminated by a nearby light source. For example, opening the map in a dark tunnel would make it hard to read, in some cases, even unreadable for significant portions of the adventure, adding an extra layer of challenge.

Gameplay mostly consisted of VRRat describing what he perceived in his current position, followed by the player giving new instructions on where to move next.

'''The Great Pug''' is a PC-only bar [[Special:MyLanguage/Worlds|world]] established on February 1, 2017 by ''owlboy'', dedicated to host many patrons and serve all those who come through its doors.

The Great Pug has four floors:

* The first floor hosts a double-sided bar, 11 booths and 5 tables for patrons to sit, as well as two bathrooms, a storage closet, and a door leading out to the back of the building where dumpsters and a shed can be found
* The second floor, named "Night View Hall" has another bar, a stage for people to perform, a billiards table, two long tables and five small tables
* The topmost floor, named "The Roost", can be reached after ascending 6 flights of stairs. The Roost has a fireplace with four seats and a sofa surrounding it, two large round tables behind it, and another set of stairs leading to a loft with 5 beds for people to sleep on

The Great Pug is a meeting place for many content creators.
We've seen the first tests of "AI" players: players that use Large Language Models (think ChatGPT) to talk back to other players.
Or players who have completely remastered the place by creating avatars that can add more content to the world (decorations, various objects...), making the place their own in a very creative way.
Concerts are sometimes held on the second floor stage.
It's also a meeting place for avatar creators.

This event included the Great Pug, where resolving a puzzle unlocked a portal to a secret world called "Dire Pug".

The '''Dire Pug''' is a challenge world containing several trials to go through, the reward was a piece of the Mr. Whiskers gun.

==Layout==

The Great Pug has four floors:

* The first floor hosts a double-sided bar, 11 booths and 5 tables for patrons to sit, as well as two bathrooms, a storage closet, and a door leading out to the back of the building where dumpsters and a shed can be found
* The second floor, named "Night View Hall" has another bar, a stage for people to perform, a billiards table, two long tables and five small tables
* The topmost floor, named "The Roost", can be reached after ascending 6 flights of stairs. The Roost has a fireplace with four seats and a sofa surrounding it, two large round tables behind it, and another set of stairs leading to a loft with 5 beds for people to sleep on

==Popularity==

As one of the oldest worlds in VRChat, The Great Pug is considered a ''classic'' world. Most people coming to this world are regulars, and as this world is not Quest Compatible, it can be for some a "refuge" world from the very popular instances of other worlds.

==Community==

The Great Pug is a meeting place for many content creators.
We've seen the first tests of "AI" players: players that use Large Language Models (think ChatGPT) to talk back to other players.
Or players who have completely remastered the place by creating avatars that can add more content to the world (decorations, various objects...), making the place their own in a very creative way.
Concerts are sometimes held on the second floor stage.
It's also a meeting place for avatar creators.

The Great Pug celebrates two annual holidays, which began in 2017. During these seasonal events, a 'hunt' is promoted, where users will have to find several of an object scattered around The Great Pug.

The '''Hunt for Mr. Whiskers''' was an event in April 2018 that sent players throughout various worlds in search of clues to find pieces to a gun that could ultimately destroy Mr. Whiskers. This event included the Great Pug, where resolving a puzzle unlocked a portal to a secret world called "Dire Pug".

The '''Dire Pug''' is a challenge world containing several trials to go through, the reward was a piece of the Mr. Whiskers gun.

In 2020, after the "Udon" update, the Dire Pug died and until this day puzzle and objects interactions have not been restored. (yet, who knows maybe it will reborn again)
