These are the <u>absolute minimum</u> requirements to run VRChat on desktop and VR mode. Although the application will run, you may encounter performance issues. VRChat has lots of user-created content, some avatars and worlds may cause your performance to drop more than you might expect from a typical game! It is recommended adjusting your Safety Settings for the most optimal experience.

For your CPU, you'd want to get a 7800X3D, as AMD swapped to a new socket (AM5) with this generation. The AMD X3D series of processors perform unusually well in VRChat and other games due to their very large onboard cache. As for the GPU, selecting cards that have more V-RAM will give you a performant experience. However in certain cases (Including VR) it is mostly recommended that you choose a card that has generally better performance.
To log in to a VRChat account, you must first register on VRChat's website. Creating a VRChat account will grant you access to the VRChat application, a web version of your VRChat profile, friend list, browse worlds, and generate impostors. You will also be able to access VRChat's Software Development Kit, Feedback Forums, Ask Forums, enroll in the Creator Economy Program, and edit the VRChat Wiki.

It is also possible to merge accounts if you wish to generate a device account now, and create a VRChat account later. After merging your device account to a VRChat account, choosing to log into the device account will transfer your login to the VRChat account.
Here, you can explore at your own pace to learn the controls, adjust settings, find your first avatar, and go to your next world! The default Home world is the VRChat Home, a welcoming place to begin your session. You can choose to go back to your private Home instance at any time by opening up the Quick Menu, and choosing the Go Home tile.

<!--T:41-->
When meeting another user in VRChat, you can open up your Quick Menu, and learn more information about a user. To do this in VR, point the laser in your off-hand at them. A capsule will appear, and you click the trigger button to bring open a separate menu. On desktop, you can either click the Select User tile, or hold the Shift key and hover over the capsule. Use the left mouse button to open the new menu. On mobile, simply tap on the user to bring open the menu.

<!--T:42-->
In the Quick Menu there also is a tab which shows you the list of current players in the instance: the Here tab. By clicking on one of the user names in the list you can: read their biography, request to add them as a friend, change their microphone volume, mute them, hide their avatar, clone their avatar if available, or block them.

<languages/>

<!--T:1-->
Trust Rank is part of the Trust and Safety in VRChat, designed to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all users. This system determines when a user can upload content and evaluates user behavior to calculate "Trust", an aggregate of many variables. The system is adjustable and can be tweaked as needed.

==Ranks== <!--T:2-->

<!--T:3-->
A user’s Trust feeds into their Trust Rank, an indicator of their time spent in VRChat, content contribution, friendships made, and other factors.

<!--T:4-->
The ranks they gain are as follows (lowest to highest):
+
style="background-color: #bababa" |
Starting rank.
style="background-color: #1678ff" |
New User
Can upload avatars and worlds to VRChat. Uploaded worlds must remain private.
style="background-color: #2acf5b" |
User
Can publish worlds to Community Labs. Most functions become available at this rank.
style="background-color: #ff7c42" |
Known User
Can choose to appear as a “User”.
style="background-color: #8143e6" |
Trusted User
Can choose to appear as a “User”.

=== Special ranks === <!--T:5-->

<!--T:6-->
+
style="background-color: #efea17" |
Friends
Users you have friended will have all their avatar features shown in the Normal Shield Level, and you can customize them like any other Trust Rank.
style="background-color: #bababa" |
Nuisance
Users who have caused problems for others will have an indicator above their nameplate when the Quick Menu is open. Their avatar will be completely blocked, and they will be muted by default, regardless of Shield Level. However, you can still manually unmute them or show their avatar.
style="background-color: #b52626" |
Administrator
This rank is assigned for VRChat Team members. This rank is hidden in the VRChat client, but appears on the VRChat website when viewing a user profile, as a red border. This can be confirmed if the user profile has "Administrator" in place of their trust rank.

===Gaining ranks === <!--T:7-->

<!--T:8-->
The inner workings of the Trust system are intentionally hidden to prevent exploitation.

<!--T:9-->
However, the best way to raise your Trust Rank is to engage in normal activities in VRChat, such as:

<!--T:10-->
* Exploring
*Making friends
*Creating content

<!--T:11-->
Activities that will not raise your Trust Rank include:
*Standing or idling in a room (AFKing).
*Uploading a large amount of low-effort content.
*Mass-friending large numbers of users.
*Harrassment towards other VRChat users.
Additionally, subscribing to VRChat+, or being gifted a VRChat+ subscription can increase your Trust Rank. However it will only increase it once.

==Appearance of ranks inside VRChat== <!--T:12-->

<!--T:14-->
The Safety and Trust system is designed to stay unobtrusive. A user's Trust Rank is visible only when the Quick Menu is open. This setting can be changed under "User Interface" > "Nameplate" or in the Action Menu under "Options" > "Nameplates."

<!--T:15-->
*The text in the top left of the nameplate indicates the user's Trust Rank.
*The top right of the nameplate displays the user's avatar performance rank.

===Rank transition=== <!--T:16-->

<!--T:17-->
*Visitor to New User: Upon reaching the New User rank, users gain the ability to upload content to VRChat if they are using a VRChat account. Users are notified of this transition and directed to the VRChat documentation page for content creation.
*New User to User: Upon reaching the User rank, users gain the ability to report worlds, groups, users, and avatars to the Moderation Team for review. Users are notified of this transition.
*Notifications: Users receive notifications when they transition Trust Ranks.
*Rank Display Toggle: Users with the Known User rank or higher can choose to display their rank as "User." This changes their Trust icon and text to the User Rank and alters how the Safety system treats them. The toggle can be found on the profile page below the status and also on the 'Profile Wing' at the very bottom.

VRChat comes with a whole host of social tools for users. Such as friends, invites, notes, and more!
User Profiles
Introduced in the Identity Update, user profiles are a personalized space where information is displayed about a user. Information on a user's profile includes status; trust rank; bio; current instance (if applicable); languages they speak; social links; badges they own; and the groups they're in.

Under a user's profile, there are several actions you can take - such as sending a friend request or an invite to an instance.

Statuses
Statuses can be set in the Quick Menu, Main Menu, or on the https://vrchat.com/home and are used for the following: to control how easily a user's friends can join their instance; to vary whether a user's friends can see the instance they are currently in; to silence notifications; and to communicate an activity.

Statuses consist of a color and a customizable short sentence (up to 32 characters). There are four different statuses in VRChat:

scope="col" style="width:13em" |Status
Description
<div style="background-color:rgb(66, 202, 255);width:1rem;height:1rem;border-radius:9999px;display:inline-block;margin:0 0.5em -0.1em 0.5em" alt="Blue"></div>Join Me (Blue)
Your friends can see the instance you are in and may join freely with identical rules to Online status. However, if the instance is private and unviewable, all invite requests from friends are automatically accepted as long as you have permission to accept them.
<div style="background-color:rgb(81, 229, 126);width:1rem;height:1rem;border-radius:9999px;display:inline-block;margin:0 0.5em -0.1em 0.5em" alt="Green"></div>Online (Green)
Your friends can see the instance you are in and can join your instance without an invitation. However, your friends may not see or join the instance without an invite if the instance is deemed "private".
Your instance is viewable and joinable by friends without requesting an invite in the following cases:
*The instance is Friends+, Group+, Public, or Group Public.
*The instance is Friends and either you or a mutual friend are the instance creator.
*The instance is Group and your friends are a member of the group with permission to join the instance based on their group roles.
*The instance is Invite or Invite+ and your friends are returning to the instance they created.
<div style="background-color:rgb(232, 129, 52);width:1rem;height:1rem;border-radius:9999px;display:inline-block;margin:0 0.5em -0.1em 0.5em" alt="Orange"></div>Ask Me (Orange)
Your friends cannot see the instance you are in. They must request an invite from you to be able to join, regardless of the instance's privacy.
<div style="background-color:rgb(91, 11, 11);width:1rem;height:1rem;border-radius:9999px;display:inline-block;margin:0 0.5em -0.1em 0.5em" alt="Red"></div>Do Not Disturb (Red)
Your friends cannot see the instance you are in. They may request to join, but you will not receive any notifications.1

1 In fact, you won't be able to send or request any invites to your friends within the game if they are in that status.

Bio
The bio (abbreviation for biography) is a paragraph of text written by the user that is generally used to describe or introduce themselves but can be used for any purpose. The bio can be up to 500 characters long.

Currently, emoji and some special symbols(e.g. fractions) are not supported. Some known special characters that are allowed are:
