Sushi Aquarium 淡水棟 and Sushi Aquarium 海洋棟 are a set of cross-platform worlds created by long-potato and Kaiiiiiiiii. They were both published simultaneously in 2024. Both feature detailed sea-life exhibits for freshwater and saltwater animals respectively.
Design
Both worlds were designed in collaboration with their creators and have portals connecting them. Their design is reminiscent of the ones found in sea-life exhibits in real life. A path follows along all exhibits, which range from small terrariums to large bodies of water. All signage is in Japanese only.
Fish
To deliver a realistic aquarium feel all animals use a realistic texture and are animated in complex patterns to make them seemingly move naturally. When different animals share an exhibit, their movement patterns also follow individual patterns to not overlap with one another.
Freshwater Section
The world Sushi Aquarium 淡水棟 serves as the freshwater section, it mostly houses smaller exhibits and some amphibious creatures that may also be found along rivers and lakes. Near the end of this exhibition is its main attraction, which recreates a slice of a large river, along with a wooden bridge going above it.
Saltwater Section
The world Sushi Aquarium 海洋棟 serves as the saltwater section. It has larger water tanks with more numerous and larger creatures within them. Its centerpiece is a massive water tank filled with fish swarms and whale sharks inside.
