POLAND is a cross-platform Polish-themed hangout world created by OKOK. It's been published in 2019 and has been serving as one of the most popular meet-up worlds for Polish-speaking users since.

Design

Map of the world with teleports

The main area of the world is shaped after Poland. Its sunny and green terrains extend from the beach shores of the Baltic Sea[1] in the north to the cliffy Carpathian Mountains[2] in the south, flanked by two fictional rivers in the west and east. The world is filled with various content referencing Polish memes, pop culture, and life, such as landmarks, objects, graphics, audio, and more.

Locations

  • Mirror area - main hanging out spot with a large mirror.
  • Pier - referencing a pier in Sopot city[3], a popular tourist attraction and the longest wooden pier in Europe.
  • Mountain - featuring a zip line and a cavern.
  • Club - party room with entrance through one of the doors in the house.
  • House
  • Gazebo
  • Woods
  • Ramp & "Morenka" Establishment
  • Pitch
  • Never Have I Ever game

Pop culture

Culture

Patriotism

References to Polish patriotism and nationalism are woven into the fabric of the world essence, starting from its literal name, and cultural references, to national symbols on direct display. Multiple flags can be found across the world, including a giant flagpole and a house decoration which often appears during the most important national holidays.

Vehicles

Daily life

Technology

Outdoor life

References to popular outdoor hanging-out spots can be found across the world, like benches, a hopscotch court, or a carpet hanger[19]. Most of them looking seemingly regular are partially a cultural reminiscence of the outdoor social life of Polish neighborhoods surrounding the communist era apartment blocks.
