ユーザーの信頼度は、VRChat の使用時間、コンテンツへの貢献度、交友関係などの指標であるトラストランクに反映される。

取得できるトラストランクは以下のとおりである（低い順から高い順）：

Visitor 開始時のランクである。
New User アバターおよびワールドを VRChat にアップロード可能となる。アップロードしたワールドは非公開のままにする必要がある。
User ワールドをコミュニティラボに公開できるようになる。また、ショップでのギフト送付ができるようになる。大多数の機能はこのトラストランクから使えるようになる。
Known User 「User」として表示することを選択できる。
Trusted User 「User」として表示することを選択できる。

特殊なランク

Friends フレンドになったユーザーは、通常のシールドレベルにおいてすべてのアバター機能が表示され、他のトラストランクと同様にカスタマイズが可能である。
Nuisance 他のユーザーに迷惑行為を行ったユーザーは、クイックメニューを開いた際にネームプレート上部にインジケーターが表示される。シールドレベルにかかわらず、アバターは完全にブロックされ、デフォルトでミュート状態となる。ただし、手動でミュートを解除したり、アバターを表示したりすることは引き続き可能である。
