This article highlights the process of linking an existing platform account to a regular VRChat account.

Platform accounts include pre-existing VRChat on the following devices:

  • Steam
  • Meta
  • PICO
  • Viveport

Upon merging, if the total number of favorites from both accounts exceeds the platform's maximum limit, users may retain more favorites than typically allowed. Users who have made purchases through the Creator Economy on any platform (Steam, Meta, Pico, Viveport) cannot link their accounts into a full VRChat account. This restriction is temporary and expected to be lifted.

To merge a platform account into a full VRChat account, follow these steps:

  1. Log into the Steam, Meta, Pico, or Viveport account you wish to link.
  2. Open the Main Menu in VRChat.
  3. Navigate to Settings.
  4. Locate and click the Link Account button below the Exit option.
    • If the Link Account button is not visible, you are already logged into a full VRChat account.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to link your account.

Post-link

Limitations

Each full VRChat account can be linked to one account from each supported platform simultaneously.
