WHO IS OBSIDIAN KING

OBSIDIAN is everyone's favorite bouncer and professional bar hopper. He is a French-Canadian gremlin who hides and peeks around corners as a Godzilla spartan. Obsidian loves to hide around in the bar and make finding him a game of hide and seek. When it comes to the bar, because of Obsidian we have one of the best adults only hang out spots in all of VRC. Obsidian brings a sense of comfort to the door with his kind words and his huge avatar which is kind of like a soft big old teddy bear. Obsidian is someone who is well respected and he earned that respect although he may be a little firm sometimes, he’s got a great attitude and positive energy. The bar has become an extension of him and what he is. He has also pretty much become the official bar pet/mascot of The Obsidian Night Bar.

Obsidian is a laid-back person with a great sense of humor that can make anyone laugh at any moment, whether we’re stressed with bar stuff or not. He can join any server and people rush to see him or start screaming his name, cause he’s that popular and known. He’s a big guy and he looks like he's all serious. It may seem intimidating to talk to him at first but once you get to talk to him, he's a cool person to hang out with. He isn't as scary as people say, in reality he has a heart as big as he is and will have your back if he feels like he needs to step in. He’s great to be around and full of life, a very chill and caring person. He’s extremely social, really likes to listen and get to know everyone around him and has his community at heart.

He is also a human cat who loves to purr and loves to give head pats.

FIRST STEPS INTO VRCHAT AND THE MIDNIGHT BAR

OBSIDIAN was First Introduced to VRChat in mid-December, where he quickly got attracted to the bar scene and the bouncer profession more specifically. He originally met a few unlikely friends who quickly accepted him as part of their group named "Demon Time Right Time" as a bouncer. Unknowingly this would be the start of an unforgettable story for Obsidian.

After just a few days, he quickly noticed how intoxicatingly addictive this would be for him, in just a few days he found himself working in the bar scene of The Midnight Bar over 14 hours a day every day, with nothing else in mind. Because "Demon time" was only opened for a few hours at a time, he had to apply at other bars, where he met all types of people, and made friends all over the various servers.

Soon after, many of his new friends would suggest he makes his own bar, so he can always open and work as he pleased and they could work with him on it, but it took some time to have him convinced. That would mean he would visit other bars less and would also mean he would need to make a bar that met his expectations, and he was reluctant. The next week after thinking it over, and the constant encouragement to start one up, the group was finally created, but still Obsidian said he would not open the bar of that name until he felt sure about it.

Within 20 days 550 people joined the group while it had yet to ever open, which made it clear what the people wanted and So The Obsidian Night Bar was born on February 17, 2024 . . .

BEING A DRINK OWNER AND A BAR OWNER

The Obsidian Night Bar was all the rage and Obsidian felt it was a good time to add to it, so after asking his friend Night Pheonix for some help, he put together his idea for a new drink exclusive to his group. He then had his friend photo shoot him as a miniature version of himself holding the drink called "Low Tide" and with some added description, Jmelt Kurisu made what OBSIDIAN called "THE BOUNCER" it's a small Spartan-Godzilla holding a large cauldron of liquid obsidian (LAVA) of which he blasts with a radiation beam to keep boiling hot! It's called The Bouncer to represent his favorite role at the bar, and its sure to bounce you all the way to the back alley!

To be a drink owner? In his words: "I don't feel anything special bout being a drink owner, I'm just glad our community can enjoy something fun."

Fun Facts

• It's Possible to find OBSIDIAN peeking behind the corner to the bathroom or any other corner in any random bar. He can sometimes hold that position for hours.
• Sometimes you might find a Bouncer drink behind your bar with your jacuzzi unlocked without ever catching a glimpse of OBSIDIAN.
• Obsidian's original favorite drink is the Dealer.
• Unless he never had one before and it's handed to him by the original creator, OBSIDIAN will never drink any other drink but the "Dealer" and "The Bouncer".
• OBSIDIAN will occasionally be found at .20 meters tall on the counter holding "The Bouncer"
• Rumors are, someone is hiding inside one of his pockets.
• If you look at the ceiling of a bar you could catch a glimpse of OBSIDIAN's tail.
• Sometimes OBSIDIAN can be found in the rafters over the bar or under the round table!
• OBSIDIAN used to be seen at the bouncer position every day in almost every bars. Now he Likes to see people enjoying his craft.
• OBSIDIAN tried bartending before, HE HATED IT! His fingers would break the fizz machine.
• Have you ever seen OBSIDIAN STANDING! It's Scary!
• Whats this sound you say? Some people call it a door stop, others an engine trying to start and some call it the comforting sounds of OBSIDIAN purring like a soft cat.
