This feature was present in earlier versions of VRChat, but has since been removed.Hype Trains was a community gifting feature in which users in an instance collectively send VRC+ gift drops within a time limit to reach a shared goal and unlock a reward.
Overview
The Hype Train was introduced as a limited-time feature during the Pride Month 2026 event. A Hype Train starts when the instance recieves a total two gift drops from users within the timer window. A Hype Train can be started in any world and in any instance. Each gift drop that is sent resets the timer, and the Hype Train ends if the timer runs out before the goal is reached.
When a Hype Train is completed, users who are in the instance or were in the instance during the active hype train will receive a reward.
Behavior
Indicator & UI
During an active hype train, instances showcased a "train" icon indicating the a hype train is active. It also showed the amount of gift drops that were sent out of how many is needed.
Within the instance, active hype trains displayed a custom Quick Menu widget showcasing the amount of gifts sent, gifters, personal contributions, and time remaining. Ended hype trains showed an alternate version. It also displayed a pride version of VRCat, clicking it will make VRCat comment on the ongoing hype train.
The HUD also displayed custom elements. During an active hype train it showcased the amount of gifts sent and time remaining. When a hype train is completed, it showcased a element displaying "Hype Train complete: reward unlocked!".
