Steam Audio is a real-time spatial audio solution developed by Valve Corporation. It simulates how sound waves travel, reflect, and occlude in three-dimensional environments. Steam Audio switched to an Open Source Model in Feb 2024[1].

First Closed Beta Release was 18 December 2020[2]. First Public Announcement 13 February 2025[3]. SteamAudio was known to be hidden in "noise" branch[4].
