Horizon Adjust is a VR comfort feature, lettings users be able to use VRChat easier while reclined or laying down. When setting Horizon Adjust, the viewing position of the user will make the user face forward, as if they were standing and looking forward.

The feature was released on August 5, 2022 with the 2022.2.2p2 update. However, the feature was teased[1] on July 27, 2022, and then released to Open Beta on July 29, 2022[2].

Horizon Adjust can be found within the Settings tab within the Quick Menu, under Advanced Options, then clicking Allow Horizon Adjust.

Warnings

Horizon Adjust can cause extreme vertigo for users who are sensitive to motion sickness, or those who are not used to using virtual reality headsets, and VRChat recommends combining other comfort settings, such as Holoport[3], tunneling, and comfort turning.

Settings with Horizon Adjust

  • Horizon Adjust Snap - A toggle that, when enabled, snaps the user's viewing position along a grid
    • Set Horizon Adjust - Enables Horizon Adjust; this button can be clicked again to update another offset
    • Reset Horizon - Disables Horizon Adjust, and resets their HMD position back to normal
    • Set Standing Height - Sets the user's avatar to stand up fully. This can be used if the user is crouched, or floating.
