Third Person View is a desktop feature that allows users to switch their perspective from their avatar's point of view to a zoomed-out view. It was initially released as a VRC+ Early Access feature and was later made free for all users.

Controls

When enabled, users can adjust the distance from their avatar and switch between behind-the-back view and free rotation.

Button Description
F5 Toggles Third Person View
Scrollwheel Adjusts the distance from the avatar
TAB Enabled free rotate mode
ALT + Scrollwheel Allows distancing items

Settings

The following settings can be adjusted in Main Menu -> Settings -> Graphics.

Name Tooltip
Third Person View See VRChat from behind your avatar! Toggle with F5, freely rotate with TAB, and adjust distance using mouse-wheel.
Third Person View Distance Sets the maximum distance the third person viewpoint can extend away from your avatar when third person view is active
Third Person View Vertical Sets the left/right position for the third person viewpoint relative to your avatar
