Space Jam is a series of space-themed world jams, held by VRChat, and in partnership with the National Space Society of Australia (NSSA). Guided by the vision of the NSSA, creators are challenged to create immersive experiences to explore the frontiers of lunar exploration. Top winners of the jam are to receive cash prizes, which are sponsored by the NSSA.

National Space Society of Australia

The National Space Society of Australia (NSSA) is an independent nonprofit, educational organization dedicated to the creation of a spacefaring civilization. They are the partner of the Space Jam, which oversees the themes, sponsoring prizes, and judging worlds with VRChat.

Vision & Mission

The vision & mission of the NSSA is to have people living and working in thriving communities beyond Earth, and to promote social, economic, technological, and political changes to expand civilization beyond Earth, and to build a hopeful and prosperous future for humanity.

Their vision & mission inspire the categories of the Space Jam.

Space Jam 2024

Space Jam 2024 - Key Art

Space Jam 2024 was the first installment of Space Jam. Submissions opened up on March 1st, 2024 and closed on April 5th, 2024.

The objective of this jam was to "create a VR experience that pushes the boundaries of virtual reality to depict the future of human life and work in space."

Space Jam 2025

Space Jam 2025 - Key Art

Space Jam 2025 is the second installment of Space Jam. Submissions opened up on February 24th, 2025 and closed on April 5th, 2025.

The objective of this jam is to "create a VR experience that presents a hopeful vision of human life in space."

This jam has two categories that world creators can work on:

  • Sustainable Space, Resilient Earth
  • New Horizons, Shared Futures
