The ranks they gain are as follows (lowest to highest):

Visitor Starting rank.
New User Can upload avatars and mondes to VRChat. But uploaded worlds cannot be published.
User Can publish worlds to Laboratoires communautaires. Most functions become available at this rank.
Known User Can choose to appear as a “User”.
Trusted User Can choose to appear as a “User”.
