Don't worry about making "friends". just do you, act a fool, and join in on random conversations. Enjoy your time, have some interactions, and let friendships happen naturally. This is how I got my first few friends in the game: doing my thing, having fun, and adding people I vibed with. Over time, I got introduced to their friends, which expanded my circle.
Go with the flow of conversations and act like you're already part of the clique. It works! No one knows who you are, but they also don't know who you might know, so you're in the clear. Jump in and make yourself known. If you're talking to someone and someone else walks by or stops, greet them. Be the person who welcomes others. It'll pay off when you start recognizing familiar faces.
For example, I like to sit in front of a mirror. If someone comes up to click the mirror, I wave and ask how they're doing. Find small ways to slip into conversations. It’s easy, especially in chaotic ones. You could also bring along a friend you already know and chat with them in public until someone else joins in. Highly populated areas like the Black Cat are great for this. Chill in front of the mirror, talk with your friend, and people will eventually stop by to hang out.
