A deathmatch game world based on Unreal Tournament and its popular Instagib mutator․ In instagib‚ you are equipped with a weapon that kills other players in one hit․ You can play against other players or up to 12 AI bots․ Do you have what it takes to win? GROUP˸ IGT․3531 [Version 1․0․5]

Instagib Tournament is a cross-platform player-versus-player game world where you have to frag opponents atop three opposing skyscrapers.

Source material

Instagib Tournament's arena is a near-replica of DM-Morpheus from Unreal Tournament 1999, a map with three skyscrapers towering towards outer space.

Instagib is a mutator in all Unreal Tournament games, which equips the player with a super shock rifle that frags enemies with a single shot. This weapon is so insanely powerful that it turns enemies instantly into "giblets". All other weapons and powerups are removed from the match. Instagib is mostly used in deathmatch and capture the flag gametypes. This mutator can also be found in other games like Quake.

Liandri Mining Corporation knew they had found an excellent arena at the very top of a newly constructed Galaxyscraper SuperStructure. Thanks to the modern miracle of super tensile solids, these three buildings reach a staggering 12 miles high at their pinnacle. The thin atmosphere and reduced influence of Earth's gravity provide an interesting test of the tournament athete's ability to adapt and conquer in extreme environments.

Trivia

  • Instagib Tournament was featured in VRChat's Developer Update on April 20, 2023.
  • An asteroid with two opposing structures can be seen in the distance from the arena. This is a callback to CTF-Face or "Facing Worlds" from Unreal Tournament.
  • The term instagib is a portmanteaux of the words 'instantaneous giblets', giblets referring to the edible organs of poultry. In other words, instagib informally means "blown to chunks".
