個人檔案中的驗證標記。

「年齡驗證」（Age Verification），是一項社交功能，其允許用戶透過第三方服務 Persona 驗證年齡。已驗證的用戶可在其個人檔案上顯示年齡驗證標記，並得以加入具年齡限制的房間（Instances）。此功能於 2024 年 11 月 27 日，在 VRChat 官方 YouTube 頻道上正式公布。[1]

截至 2025 年 1 月 28 日，驗證流程目前仍以搶先體驗的形式開放給所有 VRC+ 訂閱用戶使用。[2]

流程

年齡驗證流程主要透過第三方平台 Persona 服務進行。用戶需提供所在國政府身分證件[3]，並使用具備攝影功能的裝置，例如智慧型手機或配備網路攝影機的電腦，才能夠完成驗證。

幾乎任何形式的政府核發身分證件皆可使用，但可使用的類型會依用戶所在國家而有所不同，例如：具備 NFC 功能的護照（或電子護照）。

用戶可透過此連結，在 VRChat 官方網站上進行年齡驗證。

Persona 會依照其隱私政策[4]處理用戶的身分證件資料與生物辨識資料，並確保其符合《一般資料保護規則》（GDPR）、《加州消費者隱私法》（CCPA）以及其他相關合規標準[5]。VRChat 不會接收或儲存驗證流程中的個人資訊，唯一例外是用戶經驗證後的出生日期。Persona 與 VRChat 之間採用資料處理協議（Data Processing Agreement，DPA），該協議要求 Persona 對所有用戶皆須依照《一般資料保護規則》、《加州消費者隱私法》標準運作，而不受所在地區限制[6]。

功能

個人檔案標記

個人檔案中切換顯示「已確認年滿 18 歲」（Verified 18+）之處。

已完成年齡驗證且年滿 18 歲的用戶，可選擇在其個人資料上顯示標記，以表示其 18+ 年齡驗證狀態。

  • 「已確認年滿 18 歲」（Verified 18+）之選項，僅可由已完成年齡驗證，且已年滿 18 歲的用戶使用。

若用戶不希望讓其他人看見其驗證狀態，也可選擇完全隱藏該標記。已驗證為 18+ 的用戶，無論其個人檔案上是否公開顯示驗證標記，皆可存取有開設年齡限制的房間。

僅有年齡驗證的信任盾牌圖示本身「並不代表」該用戶已年滿 18 歲，它僅代表該用戶已完成年齡驗證。年滿 13 歲而未滿 18 歲的用戶，也可以透過 Persona 完成年齡驗證，但在年滿 18 歲之前，將無法在其個人資料上選擇「已確認年滿 18 歲」標記，也無法存取有年齡限制的房間。

群組（Groups）可以建立 18 歲年齡限制的房間，其要求所有參與者必須已完成年齡驗證，且年滿 18 歲才能加入。此限制可套用至「公開」、「群組 +」、「群組」房間。若用戶已完成 18 歲驗證，則年齡限制房間將始終顯示在房間列表的最上方。

年齡驗證系統預計將會與內容控管（Content Gating）系統搭配運作，以防止未完成驗證、已完成驗證但未滿 18 歲的用戶，存取被標記為「性暗示」（Sexually suggestive）及「成人用語和主題」（Adult language and themes）的內容。此功能預計將於 2026 年上半年實施。[7][8]

推出計畫

該功能最初在測試期間僅開放給特定群組使用，只有被選中的群組成員才能申請驗證名額，並建立有年齡限制的房間。[1]

第一階段的逐步推出於 2024 年 12 月 17 日開始，多個被選中的群組獲得了針對群組用戶的年齡驗證功能存取權限。

On January 28th, 2025 the feature was rolled out to all VRC+ subscribers as an Early Access feature. There is currently no confirmed date as to when it will become available to all users.

Additional information

  • Verification Requirements: Users must submit an unedited photo of their government ID for it to be accepted as well as complete a "liveliness check" involving a selfie to ensure the person validating is the same as the person who owns the ID[9].
  • Optional: Age verification is not mandatory to use VRChat. However, to be able to access age-restricted instances and features a user must verify their age and be 18 or older[10].
  • Data Handling: ID data is retained by Persona for the minimum amount of time it takes to verify the user's birthdate and to create a unique one-way cryptographic hash utilizing data from the user's provided ID. This hash is stored on VRChat's servers for that user's account and all ID data is deleted on Persona's end, the irreversible cryptographic hash and user's verified Date of Birth remain on VRChat's servers.[11]
    • Note: Deleting verification data in VRChat will result in the user's account being unusable until they accept the Terms of Service and input their birthdate again. This will also result in verification status being removed from that account unless it is reverified.
  • One ID Per Account: One ID cannot be used to verify multiple accounts. This restriction is intended to enhance trust, and encourage users to place more value in their account, discouraging malicious behavior[12].
  • 18+ ≠ Sexually Explicit Content: 18+ Age verification or age-restricted instances do not waive the Terms of Service or Community Guidelines policy on pornographic content.
