VRChat's Open Beta allows users to try new features out earlier, using a public testing branch during an Open Beta testing period.

There is currently an ongoing open beta for 2024.3.2, which started on August 29th, 2024.

How To Participate

To check and see if you are currently on an Open Beta build, consider if there is already an active Open Beta test. You can go to the Debug row in either the Quick Menu Settings, or the Main Menu Settings, and compare the version that you're on.

Steam

This tutorial is for any betas related for PCVR.

  1. Right-click VRChat in your Steam Library.
  2. Select the Properties menu.
  3. Click the Beta tab on the left.
  4. Select Open Beta from the dropdown list. If it isn't present, restart Steam.
  5. Press OK. Steam will update you to the latest version of the Open Beta.

To revert back, follow steps 1 through 4, but select "None" instead.

Meta Quest

This tutorial is for any betas related for the standalone Meta Quest.

  1. Open your Headset's Library and find VRChat
  2. Hover over the VRChat thumbnail, then select the ... button on the top-right
  3. Click 'Details' and open the 'Installed apps' page
  4. Click the 'Release Channels' button next to the Version Info and select 'Open Beta (Opt-in)'
