Super VR Ball (SVRB) is a multiplayer obstacle course game world inspired by Super Monkey Ball[1]. Up to 32 players navigate courses atop rolling balls to collect the most melons or reach the goal the fastest. Players can choose from up to 4 unique level packs, each with its own set of levels. Super VR Ball was created for the Obstacle Course: Time Trials Jam.

Gameplay

Objective

The scoreboard that appears upon level completion allows the player to choose between the following sort options:

Fastest Time Complete levels as quickly as possible. Smaller times rank higher on the scoreboard.
Number of Melons Complete levels with as many melons as possible. More melons rank higher on the scoreboard.

The scoreboard tracks these objectives for the duration of the selected level packs. Whether a player chooses to compete for the most melons or for the fastest times is up to them.

Movement

Super VR Ball uses a physics-based movement system where players control the ball they are standing on. As the ball moves in a given direction, its momentum builds up and is preserved.

Controls

Control VR Desktop Note
Movement Left Analog Stick (Move) WASD
Brake Left Analog Stick (Move) WASD Moving in the opposite direction the ball is going will brake and slow the ball's momentum, even in mid-air.
Auto-Brake Left & Right Trigger (Left & Right Interact) Right Click Holding Auto-Brake slows the ball's momentum regardless of the direction the ball is heading in, even in mid-air. It can be disabled from the "Other" tab of the settings panel.
Jump A (Jump) Space Jumping is only possible when the ball is not moving. This allows the player to jump over certain obstacles and can help if they're stuck.

Game mode

Upon starting a game, players may choose to play levels as-is or in reverse by selecting the following game modes.

Forward The default game mode. Levels are played from start to finish as originally intended.
Reverse Levels are played in reverse.
Forward + Reverse All selected level packs are played from start to finish, then in reverse.
