Official events and Jams are a way for VRChat to engage with the community, by allowing creators to showcase their creativity in Jams, or socializing and connecting with others with Events.
Multiple events are handled every day on the platform, notable events are organized by VRChat themselves or in collaboration with partners to create memorable experiences. Check out some notable community events!
Events
New Year's Eve
VRChat New Year's Eve is an annual event to celebrate and ring in the new year!
Hosted in a mock version of New York City Times Square, where users can hang out and socialize with people from around the world, watching the ball drop for every time zone around the world. The world includes community booths and posters from users to showcase themselves and their creations. And either musical performances or video entertainment to keep the party going!

Spookality
Spookality is an annual Halloween-themed avatar and world jam where users showcase their spooky and bizarre avatars and worlds.
Users can view all the highlighted submissions of Halloween-themed avatars and worlds in either the VRChat Home, Spookality Hub, or a temporary world row.
The Spookality Jam objective is for creators to hone into the fun of creation and the vibe of the holiday season.

World and avatar Jams
Sketchbook Jam
This Jam ran from May 22nd, 2021 to May 31st, 2021.
The objective of that jam was to experiment with drawing tools, making use of the new Network updates from UDON.

Obstacle Course: Time Trials Jam
This Jam ran from August 19th, 2021 to August 30th, 2021.
The objective of that jam was to create a challenging parkour world made of Udon bricks provided by VRChat or to use your own to make something unique.

Joke Jam
This Jam ran from March 22nd, 2022 to April 1st, 2022.
The objective of that jam was to make jokes, pranks, and more funny things.

Avatars for Everyone Jam
This Jam ran from March 2023 to April 2023.
The objective of this Jam was to allow the community to bring fresh new avatars to the platform.
Targeting specific aspects of avatar creations, only a fraction of the avatars were selected and even fewer were officially added to the Public Avatars.
Some categories allowed participants to win points by following VRChat's guidelines.

Space Jam
This Jam ran from March 2023 to April 2023.
This Jam was built to promote Space Content and push everyone to inspire themselves from the Artemis missions.
This Jam is made in partnership with the National Space Society of Australia (NSSA). This allowed this JAM to be backed with prices for the three most inspired and innovative Worlds.
This also allowed the winning worlds to be showcased at the New Horizons Summit event.

Summer Music Fest Jam
This Jam ran from July 8, 2024, to April 2, 2024.
It was planned to promote creativity around music and summer themes. Creators are encouraged to make worlds and avatars regarding this topic.
Promotion of events through those creations is the main objective of this jam within the summer of 2024.
A selection of 10 worlds and 10 avatars, will also be receiving some prices at the end of the JAM.
A VRChat Summer event is also organized in one of the winner worlds featuring DJs from the VRChat dev team on the August 26 2024.
