Escape the Ordinary and Dive into the Cyber Reef this NYE[1]
New Years Eve 2025 is the ninth annual New Years Eve event held by VRChat. Users celebrate the 2025 New Year in an underwater-themed world.
Background
On November 1st 2024, VRChat announced that content submissions for the 2025 New Years world would open on November 5th, 2024. Confirming the event would return for it's ninth year.[2]
Included in the announcement, VRChat shared the type of submissions users can submit, along with guidelines[3] to follow for submissions to be accepted. The type of submissions users can submit are Posters, Booths, Graffiti, and videos for the VRChat Entertainment Network. The deadline for submissions was on December 6th, 2024.
A webpage[1] and video[4] was released on December 23rd, 2024, promoting the New Years event and revealing the theme.
World
The world was released on December 31st, 2024, along with a world row.[5] The world came with three separate versions, a low capacity, max capacity, and an unlocked URL version.
Posters, Booths, and Graffiti
Posters, Booths, and Graffiti are scattered throughout the world which were submitted by the community. The world contains 122 posters, 19 booths, and 100+ graffiti.
Entertainment Network
During the event, VRChat streamed the Entertainment Network on their Twitch stream which was also displayed in the low, high capacity versions of the world. It contained 15 hours and 44 minutes of footage.
Quests
Users can complete quests by fishing and interacting with VRCat around the world. Users can track their quest progress on the quest board near the spawn.
