Alternative Creator Companion (also known as ALCOM) is an open-source, cross-platform desktop client for managing VRChat packages. It wraps the vrc-get command-line tool in a fast graphical interface and serves as a lightweight, community-driven alternative to the official VRChat Creator Companion (VCC).

Released under the MIT Licence and actively maintained on GitHub by anatawa12 with community contributions.

Features

It supports all features VCC does, additionally it supports:

  • Changelogs, shows links to Changelogs on update.
  • Speed-optimised, parallel downloads, local caching, and a queue system keep installs and upgrades quick, even across multiple Unity projects. Faster then VCC.
  • Multi-Language, English, Japanese, German, French, Simplified and Traditional Chinese

Platform support

OS Distribution options
Windows Stand-alone .exe / .zip; winget install anatawa12.ALCOM
macOS .dmg; Homebrew cask brew install --cask alcom
Linux AppImage, DEB/RPM, Arch AUR package alcom

ALCOM shares the same project configuration files as VCC, so both tools can coexist without migration.
