* DNS - Domain Name System (Sistema de nombres de dominio): Un protocolo que localiza y conecta tu dispositivo a una dirección IP de una página web.
<div lang="en" dir="ltr" class="mw-content-ltr">
* EDNS ECS - Extension Mechanisms for DNS Client Subnet (Mecanismo de extensión de subred para el cliente DNS): un mecanismo para que los servidores de resolución de DNS recursivos envíen información parcial de la dirección IP del cliente a los servidores de nombres DNS autorizados.
Glossary
This guide uses the following terms:
* ISP - Internet Service Provider (Proveedor de servicios de internet ): Una empresa que permite que tu dispositivo se conecte a internet. Algunos ejemplos son: Vodafone, Movistar y Claro.
</div>
* OS - Operating System (Sistema operativo).
* Upstream provider (Proveedor de red principal) - Un servicio que ayuda en la infraestructura de una plataforma, en este caso, VRChat.
* VPN - Virtual Private Network (Red privada virtual): Software que puede cifrar o proteger tu conexión, mediante el método de "túnel" usando diferentes direcciones IP.

If the status outlets above do not show an incident, some users change DNS, prefer IPv4 over IPv6, or use Cloudflare WARP. This guide treats DNS as the first local change. ===Opción 1 - Usar una VPN===
<div lang="en" dir="ltr" class="mw-content-ltr">

<div lang="en" dir="ltr" class="mw-content-ltr">
VRChat Help notes that VPNs can slow downloads, and suggests disabling the VPN or excluding VRChat from the tunnel.

WARP tunnel mode can also break SDK uploads. Common SDK issues describes a "Missing Credentials" error while WARP is enabled, and recommends disabling WARP or switching to DNS-only 1.1.1.1 for that case.

* Escribe: netsh interface ipv6 set prefixpolicy ::ffff:0:0/96 100 4 y presiona la tecla "Enter".
Disabling IPv6
Disabling IPv6 is a last option and is not recommended. Microsoft states that IPv6 is a mandatory part of current Windows versions, and that disabling or unbinding it can break Windows components. On IPv6-only ISPs, disabling IPv6 can remove Internet access entirely.
</div>

Para desactivar la priorización de IPv6,
<div lang="en" dir="ltr" class="mw-content-ltr">
If IPv6 still needs to be limited on macOS, Apple documents a Link-local only TCP/IP option that limits IPv6 traffic to the local network.
</div>

* Abre nuevamente la consola de comandos presionando la tecla Windows, escribiendo cmd, y seleccionando con el clic derecho "Ejecutar como administrador" otra vez.
<div lang="en" dir="ltr" class="mw-content-ltr">
* Escribe: netsh interface ipv6 reset y presiona la tecla "Enter".
Troubleshooting
Connection problems can also come from a slow or unstable path, a local firewall, or the VRChat client itself. VRChat Help for Meta Quest, Pico, and Vive XR Elite includes restarting the headset, trying another network, power-cycling the router to renew the IP address, and disabling IPv6 firewall features on the router (this is not the same as disabling IPv6).
</div>

<div lang="en" dir="ltr" class="mw-content-ltr">
Update the VRChat client if the store (for example Steam or Meta) shows an available update.

<div lang="en" dir="ltr" class="mw-content-ltr">
Reboot router
Power the router off, wait a few minutes, and power it back on. VRChat Help notes that this often renews the IP address.
</div>

Actualizar VRChat
<div lang="en" dir="ltr" class="mw-content-ltr">
Installation and drivers
Update GPU drivers and check the VRChat installation. Reinstall VRChat if needed.
</div>

Reiniciar el router
<div lang="en" dir="ltr" class="mw-content-ltr">
Firewall, antivirus, and ports
Make sure the firewall or antivirus is not blocking VRChat. VRChat Help suggests adding a firewall exception for VRChat, or temporarily disabling the firewall during testing, then turning it back on. Some users also add Easy Anti-Cheat to the same exception list.
</div>

Integridad del archivo
<div lang="en" dir="ltr" class="mw-content-ltr">
VRChat Help lists outbound ports that need to be allowed on a strict firewall, including UDP 5055 and 5056 for realtime networking.
</div>

Poner en lista blanca en tu antivirus o firewall
<div lang="en" dir="ltr" class="mw-content-ltr">
On PC, VRChat output logs are under <code>%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\VRChat\vrchat</code> and named <code>output_log_(date)</code>. For Quest, Linux, and crash dumps, see How to write efficient bug reports.

Registros de salida
<div lang="en" dir="ltr" class="mw-content-ltr">

This guide covers connection issues with VRChat. Connecting to VRChat requires a reliable path to Cloudflare, AWS CloudFront, and Photon Engine.[1] Check VRChat's official status outlets before changing local network settings.

 • DNS — Domain Name System: a protocol that resolves a domain name to an IP address.
 • IP — Internet Protocol address: an address that identifies a device on a network.
 • ISP — Internet Service Provider: a company that provides Internet access. Examples include Comcast, Virgin, and NTT Docomo.
 • OS — Operating System.
 • Upstream provider — a third-party service that VRChat depends on for part of its infrastructure.
 • VPN — Virtual Private Network: software that routes traffic through another network, often changing the apparent IP address.

Check official outlets

VRChat publishes confirmed instabilities and outages through the following outlets.

On the web:

On Discord:

Help articles for connection, firewall, ports, uploads, and downloads are listed under #Official resources.

Upstream providers

VRChat depends on several upstream providers for account authorization, instance hosting, and purchases. Outages or maintenance on those services can affect sign-in, instances, and the Creator Economy. For Photon regions, Thunes, and related providers, see Server infrastructure.

Unstable connection

If the status outlets above do not show an incident, some users change DNS, prefer IPv4 over IPv6, or use Cloudflare WARP. This guide treats DNS as the first local change. Disabling IPv6 is not recommended on Windows, and it can remove Internet access on IPv6-only ISPs.[2]

Configure DNS

Write down the current DNS addresses before changing them, so the previous settings can be restored.[3] This section uses Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 as the example. Set 1.1.1.1 as the preferred IPv4 resolver and 1.0.0.1 as the alternate.[4] If the connection has IPv6, set that same provider's IPv6 DNS addresses as well. Do not mix one provider's IPv4 addresses with another provider's IPv6 addresses.

On IPv6-only networks, use the provider's IPv6 DNS addresses. Cloudflare and Google both publish IPv6 resolver addresses.[4][3]

Use first-party setup pages. VPN or security apps sometimes document their own resolver addresses; use those only if you mean to use that vendor's DNS. Otherwise use Cloudflare, Google, or another provider from the table below.

Prefer IPv4 over IPv6 on Windows

Microsoft does not recommend disabling IPv6, unbinding IPv6 from interfaces, or disabling IPv6 components. Microsoft recommends preferring IPv4 over IPv6 in prefix policies instead, by setting the DisabledComponents registry value to decimal 32 (0x20).[2] This option may not work if the ISP no longer offers IPv4.

Microsoft warns that an incorrect registry change can cause serious problems. Back up the registry first, and restart the PC after the change.[2]

To prefer IPv4 on Windows:

 1. Open Command Prompt as administrator: press the Windows key, type cmd, then choose Run as administrator.
 2. Run:
reg add "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip6\Parameters" /v DisabledComponents /t REG_DWORD /d 32 /f
 1. Restart the PC.
 2. Optional check: run netsh interface ipv6 show prefixpolicies. The ::ffff:0:0/96 prefix should have a higher precedence than ::/0.[2]

To undo the change:

 1. Open Command Prompt as administrator again.
 2. Run:
reg add "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip6\Parameters" /v DisabledComponents /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
 1. Restart the PC.

Cloudflare WARP

Cloudflare WARP is a further option after DNS changes. Setup is documented in Cloudflare's WARP client get-started guide.

VRChat Help allows Cloudflare WARP as a last-resort VPN and states that some other VPNs may be blocked. Using a VPN may have legal limitations depending on local regulations.[5] VRChat Help also suggests trying Cloudflare WARP when content uploads hang because of ISP routing or throttling.[6]

Cloudflare documents two relevant modes:[7][8]

 • WARP (tunnel) mode sends device traffic through Cloudflare. Cloudflare states that this replaces the original IP address with a Cloudflare IP that still represents an approximate location. WARP is not designed as an anonymizer or as a way to appear in a different country.[9][8]
 • DNS only mode sends DNS queries to Cloudflare and does not tunnel other traffic.[7]

VRChat Help notes that VPNs can slow downloads, and suggests disabling the VPN or excluding VRChat from the tunnel.[10]

WARP tunnel mode can also break SDK uploads. Common SDK issues describes a "Missing Credentials" error while WARP is enabled, and recommends disabling WARP or switching to DNS-only 1.1.1.1 for that case.

Disabling IPv6

Disabling IPv6 is a last option and is not recommended. Microsoft states that IPv6 is a mandatory part of current Windows versions, and that disabling or unbinding it can break Windows components.[2] On IPv6-only ISPs, disabling IPv6 can remove Internet access entirely.

If IPv6 still needs to be limited on macOS, Apple documents a Link-local only TCP/IP option that limits IPv6 traffic to the local network.[11]

Troubleshooting

Connection problems can also come from a slow or unstable path, a local firewall, or the VRChat client itself. VRChat Help for Meta Quest, Pico, and Vive XR Elite includes restarting the headset, trying another network, power-cycling the router to renew the IP address, and disabling IPv6 firewall features on the router (this is not the same as disabling IPv6).[1]

Update VRChat

Update the VRChat client if the store (for example Steam or Meta) shows an available update.

Reboot router

Power the router off, wait a few minutes, and power it back on. VRChat Help notes that this often renews the IP address.[1]

Installation and drivers

Update GPU drivers and check the VRChat installation. Reinstall VRChat if needed.

Firewall, antivirus, and ports

Make sure the firewall or antivirus is not blocking VRChat. VRChat Help suggests adding a firewall exception for VRChat, or temporarily disabling the firewall during testing, then turning it back on.[1] Some users also add Easy Anti-Cheat to the same exception list.

VRChat Help lists outbound ports that need to be allowed on a strict firewall, including UDP 5055 and 5056 for realtime networking.[12]

Output logs

On PC, VRChat output logs are under %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\VRChat\vrchat and named output_log_(date).[13] For Quest, Linux, and crash dumps, see How to write efficient bug reports.

VRChat User Support or the Discord support channel can help as a last resort.

System time

Check that the system clock matches the current time in the configured time zone.
