그룹
그룹은 VRChat 내에서 커뮤니티와 인스턴스를 형성하고 유지하며 조직화하는 것을 목적으로 하는 소셜 기능입니다.
그룹을 생성하는 목적은 다른 유저들이 해당 그룹에 가입할 수 있도록 하는 것으로, 일반적으로 팬층이나 문화와 같은 대상층을 흡수하기 위해 사용되며, 선택적으로 그룹 내 인스턴스에서 이벤트를 주최하고 참여할 수 있습니다. 그룹 맴버는 해당 그룹을 표시할 수 있으며, 이름표와 프로필에 그룹의 배너에 보여집니다. 그룹 기능은 2022년 11월 30일에 공식 출시되었습니다.
그룹에 가입하기
그룹에 가입하려면, 먼저 해당 그룹의 페이지로 이동해야 합니다. 한 번에 최대 각 100개의 그룹에 소속 할 수 있으며, VRC+ 구독이 활성화된 경우 최대 200개까지 가능합니다. 그룹에 가입하려면 메인 메뉴의 검색 탭 또는 그룹 탭을 통해 그룹을 찾을 수 있습니다.
다른 유저의 프로필에 표시된 해당 유저가 대표하는 그룹 목록을 탐색하거나, 월드 내에 위치한 특정 홍보 포스터를 클릭하여 그룹에 가입할 수도 있습니다. 그룹에 가입한 후에는 그룹 페이지의 인스턴스 탭 또는 소셜 탭의 그룹 활동 행을 통해 활성화된 그룹 인스턴스에 참여할 수 있습니다.
표시
그룹을 표시하면 이름표와 프로필에 해당 그룹의 이름과 배너가 나타납니다. 메인 메뉴의 그룹 페이지로 이동한 후 오른쪽 상단에 위치한 "이 그룹 표시" 버튼을 클릭하여 그룹을 표시할 수 있습니다. 한 번에 하나의 그룹만 표시할 수 있습니다.
맴버 가시성
그룹의 맴버는 프로필에 표시되는 그룹 목록에서 소속 관계를 숨길 수 있습니다. 그러나 아래의 조건에서는 여전히 해당 그룹에 속해 있는지 확인할 수 있습니다
- 같은 그룹에 속해있습니다.
- "모든 멤버 보기" 권한을 가지고 있습니다.
VRChat 클라이언트 내의 그룹 탭으로 이동하여 그룹을 선택한 후 메뉴 우상단 의 톱니바퀴 아이콘을 클릭하면 됩니다. 이 작업은 그룹 설정 하위 메뉴를 열게 되며, 여기서 원하는 대로 가시성을 변경할 수 있습니다.
VRChat 웹사이트에서도 그룹의 가시성을 변경할 수 있습니다. 사이드바의 '그룹' 탭으로 이동한 후 그룹을 선택하고 "설정"을 클릭한 다음 "내 멤버십" 아래에 있는 가시성 설정을 원하는 대로 선택하시면 됩니다.

그룹 만들기
그룹을 생성하려면, 먼저 활성화 된 VRC+구독이 있어야 합니다. VRC+ 구독을 유지하는 것은 그룹 소유권을 유지하는 데 필수적이지 않습니다. 활성화 된 VRC+ 구독은 VRC+ 갤러리를 통해 아이콘, 배너를 변경하거나 그룹 갤러리를 편집하는 것, 그리고 그룹 소유권을 다른 유저에게 이전하는 데 필요합니다. 현재 그룹을 생성하려면 VRChat 웹사이트를 통해 진행해야 합니다. 최대 5개의 그룹을 소유할 수 있으며, 각 그룹에는 최대 100,000명 까지 맴버가 가입할 수 있습니다.
참여 가능 여부와 가시성
그룹을 생성할 때 온보딩 프로세스는 그룹 생성한 사람에게 몇 가지 개인 설정 옵션을 제공합니다. 그룹의 참여 가능 여부는 특정 유저가 해당 그룹에 가입할 수 있는 능력을 결정합니다. 이 설정은 나중에 변경할 수 있습니다.

앞서 언급된 대로, 가시성 설정을 통해 공개 그룹이 자신의 프로필에 표시되지 않도록 수동으로 숨길 수 있습니다.
그룹 배너
웹사이트의 옵션을 사용하여 배너를 업로드할 수 있습니다. 업로드된 이미지는 해당 그룹을 대표하는 부분만 표시되며 전체 이미지가 표시되지 않습니다. 메뉴를 열면 배너의 더 큰 부분이 표시됩니다.
그룹 역할 및 권한
자신의 역할 확인
현재 VRChat 클라이언트 내에서 역할을 선택하거나 변경하는 것은 불가능하지만, 현재 자신에게 적용된 모든 역할을 확인하려면 메인 메뉴를 열고 그룹 탭을 클릭한 후, 해당 역할을 확인하려는 그룹을 클릭하시면 됩니다. 메뉴의 오른쪽 상단에 있는 '톱니바퀴' 아이콘을 클릭하면 하위 메뉴가 오른쪽으로 확장되어 그룹 설정이 표시됩니다. 이 하위 메뉴의 가장 상단에서 현재 적용된 역할을 확인할 수 있습니다.
기본 역할
그룹은 다음과 같은 세 가지 역할 등급을 제공합니다. 관리자 역할, 맴버 역할, 및 기본 역할. 그룹이 생성될 때 자동으로 세 가지 역할이 생성됩니다: 모든 유저, 이는 '기본 역할' 아래에 표시되며, 맴버, 이는 '맴버 역할' 아래에 표시되며, 그룹 오너, 이는 '관리자 역할' 아래에 표시됩니다. '그룹 오너'와 '맴버'의 역할 이름은 변경할 수 있지만, '모든 유저'는 변경하거나 삭제할 수 없습니다.
그룹 오너의 권한은 어떤 방식으로든 변경하거나 삭제할 수 없습니다. 기본적으로 그룹 오너는 항상 모든 권한을 보유해야 하기 때문입니다. 그러나 양 당사자가 동의하고, VRC+에 가입되어 있는 경우 그룹 오너는 그룹 멤버에게 이전할 수 있습니다. 이전은 되돌릴 수 없기 때문에 이전 전에 신중하게 검토해야 합니다. 아래에서 그룹 이전에 대해 자세히 알아보세요.
역할 생성하기
역할은 그룹의 관리자에 의해 언제든지 추가, 이름 변경, 또는 삭제될 수 있습니다. 각 역할에는 설명을 추가 할 수 있으며, 권한을 사용자 지정할 수 있습니다. 권한은 켜거나 끄는 방식으로 설정됩니다. 역할은 가입 시 자동 할당, 스스로 할당 가능, 2단계 인증 요구로 중 하나로 선택할 수 있습니다.
스스로 할당 가능한 역할은 선택 사항이며, VRChat 웹사이트에 로그인하여 해당 역할이 사용 가능한 경우 자신에게 역할을 할당할 수 있습니다. 단, Steam이나 Meta와 같은 플랫폼 계정을 사용하는 사용자는 VRChat 웹사이트에 로그인하여 역할을 할당할 수 없습니다. 이는 VRChat 웹사이트에서 계정에 로그인하려면 VRChat 계정 생성이 필요하기 때문입니다. 그룹 관리자는 원하는 유저에게 역할을 수동으로 할당할 수 있습니다.

Assigning permissions
To assign permissions for a role, a group manager must sign in on the VRChat website, and navigate to the Permissions tab.
- Step 1: Click Groups on the left sidebar of the website.
- Step 2: Click on a group that you can manage or change permissions for.
- Step 3: There are different tabs a group manager can access, such as Overview, Posts, etc. Click on the tab titled Settings.
- Step 4: Click on Roles, below that tab.
- Step 5: Click on the role that you wish to edit permissions for, and click Permissions with the lock icon.
- Step 6: Apply the permissions found below, scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click Save.

Group instances
The owner of a group, and those with the correct permissions may create group instances. There are three types of group instances.
| Group | Only members of a group (or certain roles within the group if specified) can join the instance. |

| Group Public | A publicly listed instance hosted by a group to which anyone can join. Group membership is not required to join the instance. |
Group instances are often moderated by the group hosting the instance. The group's owner and those given moderation permissions through their role may warn, mute, kick or ban a user within the instance. Banning a user from a group permanently prevents them from joining any Instances made by the group, as well as joining the group itself.
Group instance queues
Group Instances are also great for managing events with a high amount of people. For that situation, the VRChat Group Queues option will setup a waiting queue to process joining requests when the instance max capacity is reached. When you join the queue for an instance, you will be placed in and will receive a invite request when a slot becomes available. Once the request is received on your side, you have one minute to join the instance before your slot is given to the next person.
Transferring a group
As of March 27, 2024[1], owners of groups could choose to transfer the ownership of a group to another willing group member as long as both parties are subscribed to VRC+, and have available space. This should be taken under consideration, as all transfers are final.
You can transfer your group ownership to another member of the group; the target member and the group must meet the requirements below.
- The target member has verified their email address (check the Email section via account settings)
- The target member has an active VRC+ subscription
- The target member can still own more groups (each user can own up to 5 groups)
- The group is not monetized

Trivia
- "Just Bread Group" (TOASTY.1234) was the first ever Group[2]. It was created by our server engineer Bready for testing purposes. While launching Groups, the data had to be organized in a specific way to maximize server performance, and one had to be created first in order to organize the database properly.
