- DNS — Domain Name System: a protocol that resolves a domain name to an IP address.
- IP — Internet Protocol address: an address that identifies a device on a network.
- ISP — Internet Service Provider: a company that provides Internet access. Examples include Comcast, Virgin, and NTT Docomo.
- OS — Operating System.
- Upstream provider — a third-party service that VRChat depends on for part of its infrastructure.
- VPN — Virtual Private Network: software that routes traffic through another network, often changing the apparent IP address.
