Edit count or line change count are bad metrics. A page written from scratch and a fixed typo both count as one edit. A rewrite eats an afternoon. A lot of my heavy lifting is template plumbing and translation units that never surface as prose. So here is what I actually work on:

* Platform documentation — Getting Started, Instances, Groups, Menus, Social, OSC, Avatar Dynamics, Items, Badges. Several of them started on my keyboard.
* German localization — my largest single share of edits. German page versions, and proofreading on Crowdin for VRChat itself.
* Community tooling pages — Community:VRCX, Community:Vrc-get, Community:ALCOM, Community:Manage VRChat, VRC Quick Launcher. The tools everyone uses and nobody documents.
* Community:Potentially Upcoming Features — my most edited page. Started as a dump for datamined and pre-announcement findings, then got renamed and restructured after a long argument about where that kind of information belongs.
* Events and community pages — seasonal events, exhibitions, dance and photography, including Community:VRDancing and Community:VR Photography Exhibitions.

Automated contributions
Not everything I contribute is typed by hand. I run bots on HackebeinsBot, the account the Music Truck project used in-game before it got a second job. Those edits are data feeds from other sources, so manual work stays reserved for things a bot cannot do yet. Public list at Special:Contributions.

The bot keeps VRChat data updated for:
* World data pages behind the world infoboxes, including visits, favorites and heat values
* The VPM package version summary and the per-package version templates
* Client build metadata for Steam, Meta Quest, Pico Store, Google Play and Viveport
* Creator tool versions for the VRChat Creator Companion and VRC Quick Launcher

The same service can write marketplace shelves and paid avatar listing pages too. Those show up less often than the world and build syncs.

* wiki.vrchat.com — full MediaWiki to Git mirror. One commit per edit, resumable, bootstrapped from a snapshot. Built because I stopped being sure how freely readable this wiki would stay behind bot protection. Git history is cheap insurance.

VPM Manager
The VPM ecosystem is decentralized by design: anyone can publish a listing. In practice that means a pile of repository URLs to maintain, transitive dependencies and removals nobody can follow, and paid assets travelling as loose <code>.unitypackage</code> files.
VPM Manager is my answer. One license-respecting catalog that aggregates public listings, free and paid, and mirrors the archives so a package survives its original host. Searchable from inside VCC or ALCOM, with richer metadata on the site itself, dependency graphs included. My own listing domain <code>vpm.hackebein.dev</code> points at it and generates my listing page on its own.
Publishing side is hackebein.vpm.packager, the Unity editor tool I package my own releases with.

Track your real-world objects and use them in VRChat. This could include items like cups, chairs, poles, aerial hoops (lyra), guitars, decks, pets, cameras, or even your entire room. Various communities are forming around these possibilities .

This project began in mid-2022 with the goal of synchronizing the rotation of my pole inside VRChat with its real-world speed. Initially focused on a single-axis rotation, the project has since evolved to support full six degrees of freedom (6DoF). Some Demos can be found on my Social Media Channels like this Demo
It began in mid-2022 with one goal: make my pole spin in VRChat at the speed it spins in my flat. One axis was enough for about a week. It now does full six degrees of freedom. Demos live on my social media, like this one.

It is also the rig behind my performance art. Aerial hoop, pole and swinging bench, in VR, on the same trackers.

The desktop application ships on Steam as an auto-updating build. The avatar side installs from my VPM listing. Companion packages cover an aerial hoop, a simple dance pole example and the tracking host.

An immersive in-game feature that allows you to create playlists collaboratively with friends and strangers, playing music within your instance as a separate user. This setup lets you control the music volume independently from user voices. The Music Truck also features a touchscreen interface for easy track searching and playlist management. Additionally, it offers the ability to paint a road on the ground and includes a system for attaching other trailers.
Collaborative playlists with friends and strangers, played into your instance by a separate user, so music volume stops being welded to voice volume. Touchscreen for search and playlist management, a road you can paint on the ground, and a hitch for more trailers.

Currently on hold due to the low audio quality of the mic output in VRChat.

Hackebein (any). VRChat Wiki maintainer, Crowdin proofreader, aerial hoop (lyra) and pole dancer, occasional reason for a hotfix.

I collect data wherever I can reach it, build pipelines that turn it into something useful, and automate anything I refuse to do twice. If it is broken, undocumented, or nobody else wanted to finish it, that is my kind of project.

VRChat Wiki

I have been here since this wiki started and I am one of the maintainers on VRCWiki:Team. Full paper trail at Special:Contributions.

Edit count or line change count are bad metrics. A page written from scratch and a fixed typo both count as one edit. A rewrite eats an afternoon. A lot of my heavy lifting is template plumbing and translation units that never surface as prose. So here is what I actually work on:

Automated contributions

Not everything I contribute is typed by hand. I run bots on HackebeinsBot, the account the Music Truck project used in-game before it got a second job. Those edits are data feeds from other sources, so manual work stays reserved for things a bot cannot do yet. Public list at Special:Contributions.

The bot keeps VRChat data updated for:

 • World data pages behind the world infoboxes, including visits, favorites and heat values
 • The VPM package version summary and the per-package version templates
 • Client build metadata for Steam, Meta Quest, Pico Store, Google Play and Viveport
 • Creator tool versions for the VRChat Creator Companion and VRC Quick Launcher

The same service can write marketplace shelves and paid avatar listing pages too. Those show up less often than the world and build syncs.

Software I wrote for the wiki

 • wiki.vrchat.com — full MediaWiki to Git mirror. One commit per edit, resumable, bootstrapped from a snapshot. Built because I stopped being sure how freely readable this wiki would stay behind bot protection. Git history is cheap insurance.
 • vrc-api2wiki — the service behind the bot above.
 • VPMM-connector-VRCWiki — bridge between VPM Manager and the wiki.

Projects

VPM Manager

The VPM ecosystem is decentralized by design: anyone can publish a listing. In practice that means a pile of repository URLs to maintain, transitive dependencies and removals nobody can follow, and paid assets travelling as loose .unitypackage files.

VPM Manager is my answer. One license-respecting catalog that aggregates public listings, free and paid, and mirrors the archives so a package survives its original host. Searchable from inside VCC or ALCOM, with richer metadata on the site itself, dependency graphs included. My own listing domain vpm.hackebein.dev points at it and generates my listing page on its own.

Publishing side is hackebein.vpm.packager, the Unity editor tool I package my own releases with.
