VRChat Developer Updates, or "Dev Updates" are public announcements directed to VRChat users by the VRChat Team, acknowledging information on upcoming features or changes, product releases, current and future events or partnerships, or addressing community feedback.

Overview

Developer Updates are always posted to the Ask Forums and sometimes additionally on YouTube, once every other Thursday to cover patch notes, or announcements. Past developer updates took the form of either a blog post, or video format. However, modern developer updates are often streamlined to include both.

When the VRChat client receives an update, an Open Beta branch, or an announcement regarding server issues, an announcement will typically be posted on their respective Discord servers, but alternatively can appear on their social media profiles. Developer Updates will summarize any releases that happen between posts.
