Moonchaser was a free VRChat music event on August 28, 2026, hosted in Moonchaser 2026.[1][2]
Format
DJ sets and performances were broadcast to every instance of the Moonchaser world at once. Instances other than the DJ's showed a hologram of the DJ.[3][2][4]
The event ran from August 28, 2026, 6:00 PM PDT to August 28, 2026, 11:00 PM PDT.[2][5] It was available on all platforms, including desktop and mobile clients, and was streamed at twitch.tv/vrchat.[2][4][3]
A Quick Menu banner and a World Row linked to the world while the event was live.[2][3]
Schedule
Sets were hourly in PDT.[2]
- 6:00 PM: Clyde Machine and Softly Steph
- 7:00 PM: 3Marco
- 8:00 PM: Sera Akai
- 9:00 PM: Naku and Sir Rose
- 10:00 PM: Yoru019 (よる_Yoru019)

Rewards

VRChat reported technical issues distributing the Shades, then stated that everyone who received a Wristband would also receive Shades.[7][8][9]
History
On June 22, 2026, VRChat opened a public interest check for performers and venues for a planned platform-wide event that would broadcast beyond standard instances.[10][11] The July 30, 2026 Developer Update referred to an unnamed event around August's lunar eclipse.[12] On August 13, 2026, VRChat named the event Moonchaser for August 28, 2026.[1] On August 20, 2026, VRChat posted the world, start time, lineup, and rewards.[3][6] On August 29, 2026, after the scheduled end, VRChat posted a wrap-up on Bluesky.[9]
