Moonchaser
Moonchaser is a VRChat music event hosted on August 28, 2026.[1]
Format
The event is a party in a Moonchaser world, with DJ and performances broadcast to every instance of that world, starting at August 28, 2026, 6:00 PM PT. The world is available cross-platform and will appear in a special World Row on that date.[2]
Performers
VRChat listed five DJs: ClydeMachine, 3Marco_VRChat, SeraAkai, im_naku, and yoru019; and two VJs: SoftlySteph and SirRoseVR.[3]
Rewards
A Moonchaser Penlight Twitch Drop is available for watching the official Developer stream at twitch.tv/vrchat, a Moonchaser Wristband for joining an instance, or both.[2] Users who stay after an hour receive a Moonchaser Shades Accessory.[2]
History
On June 22, 2026, VRChat opened a public interest check for performers and venues for a planned large, platform-wide event.[4] The application form said the event would be officially promoted across VRChat's social media, video, and in-app discovery, and "broadcast beyond standard instances using streaming tech".[5] The form described timing as still in flux, with a first event likely about one hour and pre-recorded, targeting late August or November 2026.[5]
The July 30, 2026 Developer Update referred to an unnamed event around August's lunar eclipse.[6] On August 7, 2026, a VRChat Shop post for the EDM Bundle (available until October 9, 2026) included a promotional video that presents the event date as August 28, 2026.[7] On August 13, 2026, VRChat named the event Moonchaser and said it would be hosted on August 28, 2026.[1] On August 20, 2026, VRChat posted the world, start time, lineup, World Row, and rewards on X.[2][3]
